Our Story: From Transportation To Transformation
About Owens LTD Land Tree & Debris LLC
Owens LTD Land Tree & Debris LLC is a locally owned forestry mulching company based out of Palatka, Florida, serving landowners across Putnam, Clay, St. Johns, Flagler, Alachua, Marion, and the surrounding counties. We didn't get here by accident, and we don't plan on going anywhere.
Built on the Road, Not in a Classroom
Before forestry mulching, this company ran under a different name: Owens Transport LLC. For more than 12 years, owner Brandon Owens hauled open deck and flatbed freight, boats, vehicles, and heavy equipment across the lower 48 — the kind of work where nobody hands you a customer service manual. You learn it the hard way, one delivery at a time.
Out on the road, the driver is the shipper. Customers don't see a corporate office — they see the guy backing into their driveway. Brandon learned that fast, and he learned it well, well enough that customers started requesting him by name. Not because he was the closest truck, but because he knew how they liked things handled: what time they wanted the delivery, how they wanted it staged, who to call the second something didn't go according to plan. When there was an issue, he didn't disappear or point fingers — he got on the phone, coordinated between the shipper and the customer, and made sure it got fixed. That's not a skill you learn behind a desk. That's a skill you earn.
That same mentality is exactly what runs Owens LTD today.
From Curiosity to a Company
The shift into forestry mulching started when Brandon hired a mulching contractor to clear his own property. Watching overgrown land turn into clean, usable ground lit something up — not just an appreciation for the equipment, but a realization that this was a trade he could master and build a real company around. So he did.
Brandon's wife and their two boys have been behind this every step of the way — the late nights, the equipment breakdowns, the trial and error that comes with building something from nothing. This company was built on hard work and family, and that's not changing.
No Agencies. No Templates. No Shortcuts.
Here's something you won't find with most companies in this industry: Owens LTD doesn't outsource its image. No website builders, no marketing agencies, no hired-out branding. Every page on this website, every ad, every piece of equipment operation, every phone call — it all runs through one person. That's not a limitation, that's the point. When something has Owens LTD's name on it, it has Brandon's fingerprints on it too, built from scratch through actual sweat and actual trial and error, not a template pulled off a shelf.
We think that shows. Compare the work.
In It for the Long Haul
Owens LTD isn't a fly-by-night outfit that shows up for a season and disappears when the phone stops ringing. We're building a company that's still going to be here in twenty years — a name people in this community trust without needing to shop around first. We intend to become the go-to name in forestry mulching across Putnam, Clay, St. Johns, Flagler, Alachua, Marion, and every county in between, and we're not shy about saying it: we plan to do it better than anybody else in the region.
That's not arrogance for the sake of it — it's confidence earned the same way it was earned on the road: by showing up, doing the job right, and taking care of the people who trust us with their property.
Serving North Florida, One Property at a Time
From overgrown brush and palmettos to fence lines, trails, and general property cleanup, our job is simple: turn unusable land into land you can actually use, and do it right the first time. We're grateful for every customer who's trusted us to do that — from our home base in Palatka, out to Interlachen, Crescent City, and Hastings, over to Keystone Heights, and down to Hawthorne. Different towns, different terrain, same equipment built to handle all of it.
If you're looking for the company that's going to still be answering the phone five years from now — that's us.
